When Felix my beloved husband chose love and forgiveness – these things that are precious in the eyes of God – I have witnessed how the Lord poured out His favor upon him. He has willingly followed where the Lord led him: embracing reconciliation without any doubts or reservations after over two heartbreaking years of separation. When I chose to walk this narrow road, he also surrendered his life to the Lord, took my hand and faced the journey with me in the new life that the Lord has blessed us with, no looking back.
He bravely took over management of our company in the middle of 2004, when it was clear I couldn’t go back to work. And after a year of him struggling to learn the intricacies of our family business – active ingredients for the manufacture of cosmetic and personal care products – God has seen his earnest desire to make it work in his favor (for he is a mechanical engineer and his work experience was in food manufacturing) and He prospered the work of his hands. After a year of adjustment because of my absence, our company was mercifully stabilized by the Lord and has been moved to even greater success. For we have trusted in Him and not on our own strength and wisdom.
I’ve also witnessed how the Lord has brought all my beloved husband’s loved ones to His feet – his parents, siblings and their respective families – all of them receiving God’s offer of salvation, having been baptized in water in His name. And they all continue to serve the Lord faithfully.
Having witnessed how God moved mightily in their lives, I have come to learn that when we humbly surrender our lives to God, giving of ourselves willingly even though it is hard and painful at times – the abundant grace of God will be poured out upon us.
It is in the giving of one’s self freely, forsaking one’s own personal desires, that one truly offers one’s life as a sacrifice – a sweet and pleasing aroma to God.
You shall surely give to him, and your heart should not be grieved when you give to him, because for this thing the LORD your God will bless you in all your works and in all to which you put your hand. (Deut. 15:10)
