By the Word of God, the world was created. His Word is power. He sent His Word to heal and to bring deliverance (Psalm 107: 20).
The words of the Lord are pure words. There is no lie nor flattery in them. He doesn’t speak in vain. How, then, can we doubt them?
God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? (Num. 23: 19)
The words that the Lord speaks to us: they are spirit, and they are life (John 6: 63). Heaven and earth shall pass away, but the words of the Lord will never pass away (Mat. 24: 35).
The best we can do with this life that has been given us is to know His words, to believe in them, to keep them secure in our hearts, and to obey and live them out all the days of our lives.
His Word says that “The LORD our God is one LORD”, and that we shall love the Lord our God with all our heart, and with all our soul, and with all our might (Deut. 6: 4-5).
His Word tells us to teach His words to our children, and talk about them when we sit in our homes, when we walk by the way, when we lie down, and when we rise up (Deut. 6: 7).
His Word shall be a vital and prominent part of our daily life. It must occupy our moments and our thoughts. It must be woven in our speech and be the motive and inspiration behind all our deeds.
This weekend, may we take time to share the Word to a co-worker, a friend, a neighbor, a family member, or the stranger that crosses our path. We wouldn’t know that there could be a suffering and lost soul in our midst who is seeking and thirsting for the words of life, until we make the step and open our mouth.
